Find the Essence of Life

Vermitas is a charming rubber estate spread over 13 acres. Nestled in the serene Western Ghats, the organic farm is hemmed by the Netravati river on one side. The sight of the Kudremukh hills, the smell of the trees and the call of the peacocks will captivate your soul.

Our Story
Vermitas is a working farm

Thoughtful Coexistence

Vermitas represents a way of life. A life that relies on thoughtful coexistence with our natural world.

Humanity's well being is defined by natural resources that are not infinite.  For thousands of years, we have exploited our natural habitats to develop a life that is no longer sustainable. Our assumptions about happiness are now changing. Therefore we must redesign our way of life. Vermitas is an effort to protect and thrive in nature's abundance.

Our soil, water, air, trees, insects, and animals frame our wellness.  The Maoris say, 'ko au te Awa, ko te Awa ko au'. I am the river, and the river is me.  We see no distinction between human life and the natural ecosystem. Vermitas is an attempt to treat its ecosystem as family.

We are experimenting with sustainable living, which brings new possibilities. We don't always succeed, but we keep trying. We are learning the power of slow living, and applying ourselves to every challenge that farm life throws at us. Our farm produce includes raw honey and wild pepper.

Rubber Plantation

Vermitas is a Circular Economy. The principle of 'Recycle-Reuse-Replenish-Regenerate' is intrinsic to every aspect of the rubber plantation. The organic farm is a pesticide and plastic free zone. We are thoughtful about everything we use. Vermitas is teaching us to look at our planet with compassion. We are set on a path to regenerative agriculture that will protect our soil, water, air

Come visit us and participate in the delicate art of rubber tapping.

Pets

We believe that our pets teach us empathy and compassion. They teach us to be loyal and protective. Vermitas thrives in the company of bees, butterflies, animals and birds. The river has fish. You can easily spot a pride of peacocks squawking cheerfully. We love our pets. We also love your pets. Bring them along when you visit our organic farm.

Agtech

We believe that farming should be preserved. Farming should also be transformed through Agtech. Data is transforming the yield of our produce. We are adding AI and IoT to redefine how we regenerate our farm and grow our our produce. A regenerative organic farm requires deep tech to ensure quality and yield.

Why Agtech?

"Farming is being reinvented, as startups are grafting technologies such as Cloud, AI, Automation, Blockchain, IoT and Analytics into traditional farming."
